We had the pleasure of being the Vancouver wedding photographers at Katherine and Calvin’s wedding in January 2009.  Again, this was another snowy winter wedding and we were up for the challenge!  Katherine and Calvin are both avid snowboarders so they were extremely happy with the snow!  We headed out to several locations around downtown Vancouver to get their wedding portraits done before their wedding ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Park.

We took a lot of photos in the gazebo since it was one of the few places where Katherine and Calvin could shelter themselves from the snow and hail.

The wind calmed down a bit so we took the umbrella and headed outside for some cute shots. :)

Their wedding ceremony was held at the Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, BC.  We were very pleased to photograph a wedding there in the winter as we’ve only been to the pavilion in the summertime.

Katherine and Calvin’s guests blew bubbles to wish them well as they headed down the aisle.  Katherine and Calvin then went to Kirin Restaurant in Vancouver, BC for their Chinese wedding reception.

Aberthau Masion wedding photographer, winter wedding photos in Vancouver BC, West Point Grey Community Centre – Janelle & Jesse – 2009

We had a wonderful time being the wedding photographers for Janelle and Jesse at their wedding at Aberthau Mansion at the West Point Grey Community Centre in Vancouver, BC.  The day was super snowy, windy, and later turned into hail.  No worries for us again — we are fully prepared to photograph weddings in any weather and lighting situation!

Their wedding started in the afternoon and we were losing light fast so we hurried to the Jericho Beach / Lorcano Beach pier for some shots.  The wind was blowing so hard that Jesse could not keep his umbrella up for the wedding photos!!

Janelle’s veil was flying but we got a great shot. :)  Good thing it was pinned on tight!

We took some more shots along the pathways as we headed back to Aberthau Mansion for their wedding reception.

We also took some time to get wedding photos on the beach near the water, but not too close though — it was freezing!  Good thing Janelle came prepared and was wearing white winter boots!

The group shots took some time to set up since everyone had to dredge through to snow to get into their “spot”.  Janelle and Jesse’s friends were super nice and supportive — they were total troopers for roughing it out in the weather for this photo so Janelle and Jesse can get a great shot of them all!

We headed back inside Aberthau Mansion for family photos and also using the beautiful oak wall in the Oak Room.

The Brix Restaurant – Winter Wedding Photographer in Vancouver – Karla and Michael – 2009

We were thrilled to be wedding photographers for a winter wedding in January 2009.  Surprisingly for Vancouver weather, we had a lot of snow on their wedding day.  But no worries, we are fully equipped to photograph weddings in any weather and lighting condition.  We definitely made it work.

Karla and Michael had their wedding at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Langley, BC followed by a trendy reception at The Brix Restaurant in Yaletown, Vancouver, BC.

This was definitely one of their favorite photos!  It was such a snowy day and we were lucky to get to Dr. Sun Yet San Garden before it closed.  The snow really brought out the mood in this winter wedding photograph.
